1 About that Test on Mon Oct 23, 2017 5:47 pm

We just took a comprehension check (quiz) on Saturday based on the introduction to Qur'an, tajweed, and the qiraa'aat. A consistent error was on the 4th-8th centuries during which the science of tajweed/qiraa'aat were developing. Please note that you have a major exam on Sunday concerning this information so make sure to study your notes on the topics you may not be clear on. To aid you, I will write a keyterm on this thread, and everyone should list as much as they can about that word as relevant to the topic. (One point at a time is fine.) Bismillaah.

The Abu Bakr who you are referring to is the sahaabah of the prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam, whose name was Abdullaah bin Uthman but is known by Abu Bakr AsSiddeeq. He was responsible for deciding to gather the Qur'an in one book and he appointed Zayd bin Thabit radiyallaahu anh at the head of doing so.
The person referred to here is Abu Bakr bin Mujahid who was the 4th century pioneer of collecting the different recitations.
